Title: Stranger Things Have Happened
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0
Genre: AU, Supernatural, First Time
Warnings: AU, superpowers
Word Count: 4,444
Summary: Danny has always been prone to déja vu, for as far back as he can remember. Stupid, insignificant things, mostly, feeling like he’d already eaten a meal when he knew he hadn’t or thinking he recognized a new place. He’d never really given it much thought; you get used to your brain’s little quirks, Danny always figured.
Why you should read this:
When Danny starts having strange dreams that come true or gets weird spells of intuition that ends up saving his team he thinks he might be going crazy. Finally after too little sleep and far too much coffee he confides in Steve and finds out that things like this happen to islanders with alarming regularity.
Lovely first time fic with a supernatural twist. Not terribly long but a great read.
Title: Halema’uma’u (or, The New Tattoo)
Fandom: Hawaii 5-0, The Highlander crossover
Warnings: Graphic violence, death of major characters
Genre: Alternate Universe, Crossover, Action/Adventure, Angst
Word Count: 75,495
An international terrorist, with an unusual interest in volcanoes, has come to Hawai’i. Immortal FBI Agent Matthew McCormick is on his trail and seeks the help of the Five-0 team—then things get really explosive!
Why You Should Read This:
Chin Ho Kelly is a Watcher who finds he can’t “just observe”. Not this time. Not when the Immortal in questions is Pele.
This is a nice long story with a number of very well-drawn OCs as well as well-drawn canon characters. There is an excellent balance between the 5-0 and Highlander stories and the blend of the two works very well.
Title: Moving In (To Every Single Aspect of Danny’s Life, Including the Boring Bits like Dry-Cleaning)
Fandom: Hawaii 5-0
Genre: Romance, First Time, Humor
Word Count: 9688
Summary: It felt wrong for Steve to sound unsure of his place in Danny’s life. His place in Danny’s life was at Danny’s side, driving him slowly insane. Steve should feel secure about that.
Why You Should Read This: I sort of rage-quit reading H50 fic after the epic fail of Danno’s moral compass. No really, I even bitched about it on LJ. I don’t even know why I clicked on this story tonight on Pinboard but I’m glad I did. I can’t say that it’s entirely restored my whole shipper mentality for Steve/Danny but this author made me laugh and it’s a great little story about Steve being an emotional octopus.
