Title: Lion Rampart Series
Fandom: NCIS, The Sentinel, minor Barney Miller, eventual Criminal Minds
Relationship(s): Anthony DiNozzo/Jethro Gibbs, Other Slash and Het
Genre: Slash, Sentinel Fusion
Warnings: Canon-level violence.
Word Count: WIP, ~47k through Chapter 11
When it comes to being a Sentinel and a Guide, the life you lead before you are Bonded, is totally different from what happens after you Bond. Now? Now, Tony DiNozzo and Leroy Jethro Gibbs are going to be learning all the fine details about each other and how they will work together as a Bonded Pair.
NCIS now has to learn how to live with an Alpha Sentinel who holds more sway with the people who really run the agency than the guy who sits in the Director’s office. They have to learn how to live with an Alpha Guide who, while he is a nice guy, will reach for his gun as often as he will reach for words.
It sounds like a full plate. But… Crime rests for no one. Not even the newly minted MCRT team of NCIS. And when they get a case that stretches all their skills? Whatever shall they do?
Why You Should Read This:
This was the first story I read of Ladyholder’s, and it immediately became my gold standard for NCIS-Sentinel fusions. Plus, her characterization of Tony is BANGIN’!
You don’t need to know any of the fandoms to enjoy this story. Which may sound weird, but it’s true. The primary fandom is NCIS, and this story starts pre-series, so even if you’ve never watched an episode, you’ll do fine. Knowledge of Sentinel fanon might not be amiss, however.
Aside from top-notch characterizations, the relationship between Gibbs and Tony is a delight to read, the pacing is great, and her sentinel world building is amazing! And I have to come back to Tony… this is how I always want to read him: smart, strong, assertive, competent, and compassionate.
Heed the canon-level violence. NCIS, Criminal Minds… they’re procedural crime dramas—people die, things are bloody, and bad things happen.
